A shiny green pepper hosts a small visiting bee on this playful porcelain box, a little scene straight from a summer vegetable patch. It was painted by hand in Limoges, France, and makes a true Limoges box.
Buzzing Through the Veggie Patch
Bees and peppers belong together in any working garden, since pepper flowers need visiting insects. Putting the two side by side gives this box a touch of humor and a nod to how a garden really works.
Fresh From the Farmers Market
Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
Fits a vegetable, kitchen garden or bee collection
Pairs with tomato, carrot and watering can boxes
Sunny Windowsill Spot
A kitchen windowsill above the sink, a country kitchen hutch or a shelf beside the cookbooks all suit it well. Give it to the neighbor who shares her extra peppers every August, a garden club host, or a chef with a summer birthday.
It also fits a pollinator garden theme, joining bee skeps, flowers and honey pots for a cheerful little display about the creatures that keep gardens growing.
