A pig settles into an old wash bucket on this playful porcelain box, apparently waiting for someone to bring the soap. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it brings a bit of barnyard humor to the shelf.
Scrub-a-Dub Sow
Pigs have a reputation for loving mud, which makes the idea of one taking a proper bath all the more amusing. The wash bucket gives the scene an old farmhouse feel, like laundry day on a country porch. Every piece is painted by hand, so each pig has its own slight differences in color and expression.
Down on the Farm

Groups well with cow, rooster and sheep pieces
Fits a pig, farm animal or country kitchen collection
Laundry Room Laughs
Put it on a laundry room shelf, a kitchen windowsill or a bathroom counter, where the bath-time joke lands best. It makes a fun present for a friend who has collected pigs for years, a farmer, a 4-H leader, or anyone who keeps a pot-bellied pig at home. It also brings a smile to a housewarming at a farmhouse or a new place in the country. Pig collectors often look for scenes like this one, where the animal is caught in a funny, everyday moment.
