The Pure Blue Japan XX-013 is built around one of the most celebrated fabrics in Japanese denim. The XX Series has been Pure Blue Japan's signature since the early 2000s, earning the brand a cult following and becoming one of the most widely recognized styles in their catalog.

The fabric is a 14oz selvedge denim woven on vintage shuttle looms using Pure Blue Japan's proprietary slub yarns — threads with intentional irregular thickness that create a distinct, rough surface texture unlike anything produced through conventional spinning. The weavers themselves have absolute confidence in this fabric's quality, and it shows in the finished cloth. As the denim breaks in, spot fading appears throughout the surface, developing a unique, high-contrast character over time that rewards patience and daily wear.

The slim tapered (013) fit is the slimmest silhouette in Pure Blue Japan's lineup. Cut with a low rise, a tight, close fit through the thigh, and a clean taper to the ankle, it delivers a contemporary, streamlined profile for those who prefer their denim close to the body. This version comes one-washed for a softer feel and more predictable sizing.

The jeans feature a custom-branded nickel button fly, hidden copper rivets on the back pockets, raised belt loops, and chainstitched hems. Fit Notes: This model fits true to size for PBJ — the tagged size closely matches the actual waist measurement. Compared to most global American brands, sizing is similar or slightly smaller, so you may take the same size or one size up. Note that the flat waistband measurement will appear larger than the tagged size — this is normal and does not mean you should size down, as the jeans are tight through the hip and cut with a low rise. The denim is unsanforized but has been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected. With regular wear, the waistband will stretch approximately 1 inch, allowing the fit to settle comfortably over time.
